Clean and stimulate the scalp

The first step is to start at the source which is our scalp. An inflamed scalp that may be caused by scalp tension, buildup, stress, and scalp conditions like dermatitis can lead to hair thinning and hair loss. Studies have shown that one of the main causes of hair loss in adults is inflammation caused by oxidative stress and pollution. Inflammation will close off the hair follicle and this limits hair growth, and eventually leads to shedding. Eliminating the breakage, it will give the appearance that your hair is growing faster. Split end that break can lead to the hair losing length, volume, and shine.

Take hair-healthy vitamins 

If your diet is not supplying you with enough nutrition, taking supplements like multivitamins can make a difference. Choose those that are formulated and labeled for hair, skin, and nails. These supplements contain vitamins such as biotin and C and B that can support hair health.

Less shampoo and more hydration

How many times you wash your hair will impact your hair’s health. Washing your two to three times a week allows your natural oils to penetrate your hair. This will allow it to hydrate and repair itself. If you want thicker and fuller-looking hair fast, choose a shampoo that is labeled as “volumizing” or “thickening”. Using a silky deep conditioner or hair mask regularly can help to prevent damage and entangle strands.

Avoid too much heat styling.

It is advisable to stop over-styling your hair. If unavoidable and you must use heat it is best to decrease the temperature and use a heat protectant. If not, you would risk damaging your hair and that can lead to hair breakage.

Brush your hair regularly

Giving your hair a few quick strokes before going to bed can be great for your hair and scalp’s overall health. Use a bristle brush to distribute the scalp oil evenly so that it stays moisturized naturally. Doing this simple step each night will also help increase circulation and lead to a healthier scalp.

Protect hair from damage

Our hair is susceptible to breakage when it is wet so it is advisable to untangle the hair before shampooing. If you have to detangle hair when wet, you can apply a leave-in conditioner from the roots to the end and use a wide-tooth comb to reduce friction.
